In August this year, after looking at the weather forecast of Grand Canyon National Park for a period, I found that there were several days of continuous cloudy weather in the Grand Canyon. I thought this would increase the chance of thunderstorms, so we came to Grand Canyon National Park on the South Rim.
But after we arrived at the park, there were only very weak thunderstorms and lightning. The weather in nature is unpredictable so we changed our plan and stayed in the park for a few more days to wait for lightning. In the next few days, we took some photos of lightning fortunately.
The Grand Canyon National Park is famous for its grand momentum, but the visual shock brought by lightning to the Grand Canyon and the dynamic atmosphere brought by thunder is amazing, making us feel in awe of the irresistible power of nature. The scenes at these moments are so stunning. I have taken photos of sunrise, sunset, moonrise and lightning in the Grand Canyon National Park, among which the lightning in the Grand Canyon is my favorite subject.
Photographing lightning is a very unforgettable experience. Before shooting, we would like to check the lightning prediction APP and weather forecast. Since every lightning is unpredictable, I am always curious about the result of lightning. After the shutter is closed, I can't wait to know what the lightning looks like.
The most important thing about shooting lightning is safety. We must follow the precautions for shooting lightning and shoot within a safety distance. This is our continuously third year lightning shooting. I used a lightning trigger for this photo.
